About MD Registered Agent.org
MD Registered Agent.org is the best and most affordable registered agent in Maryland: $99 a year, the same at renewal.
Our registered agent service
Pay one annual fee — $99 — for resident agent representation in Maryland. The address goes on your filings, legal mail gets scanned same-day, and we remind you before state deadlines.
- A registered agent of record in Maryland, listed on your state filing.
- We accept service of process and official state mail on your company's behalf.
- Service of process and Secretary of State mail are scanned to your online account, with an email to you.
- Up to 3 other official (legal) letters a year are scanned at no extra charge, for example letters from the IRS.
- Annual report due-date reminders by email.
How mail works here: we accept legal service and state notices on your behalf, and you are welcome to list our Maryland address on filings to keep your home address off the record. We do not run a general mailroom, though. We scan service of process the same business day for free, charge $15 per item to scan anything else, and pass along postage at cost when an original must be mailed.
What Maryland requires
The requirement for LLCs sits in Md. Code, Corps. & Ass'ns § 4A-210, which states that "Each limited liability company shall have: (1) A principal office in this State; and (2) A resident agent." Two things flow from that sentence: your entity keeps a principal office in Maryland, and it keeps an agent on record with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) at all times.
Who may serve is defined at § 1-101: an individual residing in Maryland, or a Maryland corporation, limited liability company, or limited partnership, with the designation filed with SDAT. The statute is the controlling text here; summaries you may run into elsewhere sometimes read narrower than the law actually is.

Outside the plan
- A virtual mailbox or mail forwarding. Everyday business mail is charged per piece to view, legal letters beyond the 3 a year are charged per piece, junk mail is discarded and packages are refused.
- Filing your annual report. That is a separate service with its own fee plus the state's fee.
- State filing fees of any kind.
- Forming the company, or any amendment or reinstatement filing.
From sign-up to service
Visit our enrollment page, provide your business details, and submit payment. We'll confirm your service within one business day and send you login credentials for your document portal. If you're changing agents, we'll guide you through filing the change form with the state.
Switching to us from another agent
Change of registered agent to us: $0 our fee + $77.25 Maryland filing fee = $77.25. The registered agent service itself is $99/year.
- Select your new agent. Under Md. Code, Corps. & Ass'ns § 1-101, the role can be filled by an individual residing in Maryland or by a Maryland corporation, limited liability company, or limited partnership, and the agent needs a physical Maryland street address.
- Complete the Resolution to Change Principal Office or Resident Agent with your entity name, SDAT ID, and the new agent's name and address, then obtain the required signatures.
- Submit the resolution to SDAT's Charter Division and pay the $25 filing fee.
- Watch for the update in SDAT's records. Your old agent remains listed until the resolution is processed, so confirm the new listing before assuming the switch is complete.
- Save the state's confirmation with your entity records.

Billing, cancellation and refunds
Registered agent service renews automatically for another year on each renewal date, unless you turn off auto-renewal or cancel in your online account, or give written notice at least 30 days before the renewal date. Renewal reminders go out about 60 days ahead.
You can cancel at any time from your online account or by contacting support. Cancelling does not by itself remove us as registered agent on the state record; a change of registered agent or resignation filing does that.
Anything already filed with the government is not refundable. Registered agent fees are not refundable once we or our partner have been appointed with the state. State fees are not refundable once paid to the state.
